About Nigella Seeds Organic

Nigella seeds have a mild oregano aroma. Although they don't have much of a scent, they are very flavourful. Their taste has herbaceous oregano notes mixed with notes of warm cumin and a nutty onion flavor.

The spice’s name comes from the Latin nigellus, which means black

Storage and shelf life

Store Za'atar in a cool, dry, airtight container, away from the sunlight and heat.

When stored properly, will retain flavor and potency for up to 1 year.

Shipping and delivery

The product is available for delivery and pick up from our store in de Pijp.

Nigella seeds name is a diminutive of the Latin niger 'black', referring to the seed color. They are also called black caraway, black seed, black cumin, fennel flower, nigella, nutmeg flower, Roman coriander, and kalonji.
