About Matcha Powder
Matcha contains the strongest antioxidants and amino acids. The high chlorophyll content makes the list of health benefits even longer.
Japanese matcha tea is drunk in the Japanese tea ceremony. Drinking the tea is done in complete peace and quiet and is part of a meditation technique practiced by practitioners of Zen Buddhism and is therefore subject to strict rules and regulations.
In addition to the traditional use of Matcha, there are many applications today, in sweet confectionery, chocolate and ice cream. In addition, the Matcha Latte is a popular drink, that we also serve in our store in De Pijp.
Storage and shelf life
Store matcha powder in a dry and sealable food storage container – we recommend glass. Keep the container in a cool, dry and dark area out of the sun and heat. Keep the container away from liquids that may leak into it.
Matcha powder, when properly stored, has a shelf life of up to 2 months. Then it will start losing its freshness and its vivid green color.
