About Lavender Flowers Organic
Although lavender is best known as an intense floral fragrance or addition to pot pourri, this versatile plant has a range of surprising culinary uses that can be implemented in both sweet and savory dishes. Lavender flowers have a clean, distinctive aroma and matching floral, ever-so-slightly-minty flavor.
Besides using in cooking, lavender flowers make an amazing herbal tea. Lavender soothes stomach pain and calms the nervous system, and gives a feeling of relaxation. It is ideal for insomnia, stress and anxiety, helps migraines, and headaches.
It is also used instead of mothballs against moth.
Storage and shelf life
Store organic lavender leaves in a dry and sealable food storage container – we recommend glass. Keep the container in a cool, dry and dark area out of the sun and heat. Sunlight and heat can reduce the nutritional and flavoring quality of the herb. Keep the container away from liquids that may leak into it.
Organic lavender leaves, when properly stored, have a shelf life of up to 1 year.

How to use
Lavender’s sweet, fragrant flavor complements a range of foods, both sweet and savory. Ingredients lavender goes well with include strawberries, blueberries, pears, lemon, orange, honey, sage, rosemary, oregano, thyme, black pepper and chocolate.
Since the lavender flavor intensifies when the herb is dried, the dried buds should be used sparingly.
