About Walnut Halves Raw Organic
Whole walnuts are green as they grow and then ripen to a pale yellow. Once fully ripened, they fall from the walnut tree. They’re harvested from the ground, where the outer husk is first removed, leaving a hard shell. That hard outer shell is removed, or shelled, to reveal the nut meat inside. Walnuts are filled with healthy fats (polyunsaturated fats) and vitamins. It’s a good source of Antioxidants; have more antioxidants than any other common nut and are especially high in vitamin E and Omega-3 fatty acids.
Storage and shelf life
Store walnuts in a cool, dry, airtight container, away from the sunlight and heat.
Walnuts, when stored properly, will keep their taste and texture for 6 months. For longer storage, keep them in an airtight container in the fridge or in the freezer up to 1 year.

How to use
Walnuts can be used a variety of ways in the kitchen—the whole fruit (inside the walnut husk) can be pickled when young (“green”, “wet”) and shelled walnuts can be eaten raw, toasted, or even candied. In recipes, walnuts are used as an ingredient in many kinds of dishes, often to add a crunchy texture to soft or liquid foods. Added roughly chopped Walnuts to muesli; smoothies; acai bowls; oat or quinoa porridge; or natural yoghurt and fruit salad. They are also very commonly used in cakes and pies.
