About Honey Wildflower and Conifer Organic 250g
The “Organic Wildflower & Conifer Honey” encaptures the flavours & aromas of Kastoria & Halkidiki mountains. In early spring, the bee colonies are transported to various areas of Northern Greece, following the successive blooms in order to grow & reach satisfactory populations. They end up in the mountains of Kastoria & at an altitude of 650m where the bees collect nectar from different species of wildflowers such as acacia, wild clover, linden, mountain tea, wild thyme & much more. The journey continues by transporting the full of nectar hives to the mountains of Halkidiki where at the end of the summer, Sakis will be able to harvest the honey of flowers & conifers. The nectar of the flowers contains pollen grains from many plants in various proportions, a rich bouquet that gives to the honey a wonderful aroma & taste. These organoleptic characteristics are complemented by the mild & neutral taste of the coniferous trees inside the beehives. The final product is a thick & very slow crystallizing honey with unique aroma & taste.
Storage and shelf life
Store honey in a cool, dry, tinted airtight glass container or nonreactive metal container, away from the sunlight and heat. In all cases keep water and moisture away from your honey because these will cause fermentation and spoilage, unless you are making mead (fermented honey wine).
Honey, when properly stored, will remain safe to consume indefinitely. Over the year, it will lose color and some flavor. The low moisture content, low ph and antibacterial properties prevent spoilage.
