About Green Split Peas Organic
Split peas are field peas that is dried. When these peas are hulled and then split in half along the natural seam, they become split peas, which encourages faster cooking and eliminates the need to presoak.
These dried, peeled and split seeds are high in fiber, protein, and various vitamins and minerals but low in fats.
There are two types of split peas: green and yellow. Green split peas are sweeter and less starchy than the milder yellow split peas.
Storage and shelf life
Store organic green split peas in a dry and sealable food storage container – we recommend glass. Keep the container in a cool, dry and dark area out of the sun and heat.
Organic green split peas, when properly stored, have a shelf life for up to 1-2 years.

How to use
Simply rinse and place in a pot with other ingredients of your choice for a soup or stew, and bring to a simmer. Cover loosely and cook until peas are tender for approximately 30-45 mins – checking occasionally to make sure water has not completely evaporated.
